Description Additions: 3 slices bacon, chopped 1/2 medium onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, chopped 1 1/2 cups water 4 cups chicken stock 2 cups milk or half & half Cooking Directions: 1. Cook bacon in a stock pot until crisp. Add onion and garlic. Saute 1-2 minutes until softened. 2. Remove seasoning packet and set aside. Add remaining contents of soup mix, water and chicken stock. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heatand simmer for 30 minutes. 3. Whisk milk or half and half and seasoning packet in a medium bowl until incorporated. Stir in soup and simmer for 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Tip: for a delicious seafood chowder, add one cup of smoked salmon or a can of clams and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
