A simple and modern circle patterned shweshwe fabric from South Africa. This one comes with a mix of green and orange motifs against a black background spotted in blue. It is a medium weight cotton with a lovely drape and great for quilting as well as dressmaking. It was originally dyed indigo but is now manufactured in a variety of colours and designs. The formal name for shwe shwe is ‘Indigo-dyed discharge printed fabric’. It is a trademarked fabric and is manufactured by Da Gama Textiles in the Zwelitsha township outside King William’s Town in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
