A bold blue, yellow and pink shweshwe print fabric. This is the original shweshwe fabric from South Africa, a medium weight cotton with a lovely drape. It is great for quilting, soft furnishings, crafting as well as dressmaking. It was originally dyed indigo but is now manufactured in a variety of colours and designs. The formal name for shwe shwe is ‘Indigo-dyed discharge printed fabric’. It is a trademarked fabric and is manufactured by Da Gama Textiles in the Zwelitsha township outside King William’s Town in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
