Description The roots of Shank’s Extracts, Inc. date back to 1899 when Jacob Shank created flavorings to help make medicines taste better. Expanding their company and label through the years, Shank’s flavors, extracts, and food colorings are now sold to industrial and grocery customers across the country. To Make Your Own Root Beer: 1.Dissolve 9 cups sugar in 4 and 3/4 gal. warm water. 2.Stir in one bottle of Shank’s root beer extract. 3.Mix 1/2 tsp fresh dry yeast in 2 cups warm water. Let stand 5 minutes. 4.Add yeast mixture to sugar solution; stir and bottle immediately. 5.Fill bottles to within 1/2 inch from top for best results. 6.Store bottles in a warm place (75-80) for six to ten days. Refrigerate before serving. Ingredients: Caramel Color, Propylene Glycol, Water, Phosphoric Acid, Natural & Artificial Flavor, Sodium Benzoate (preservative). Contains Sulfites.
