Kangaroo leather has a highly uniform orientation of fiber in parallel with the skin surface; this leather is uniform and has great tensile strength. The leather has high resistance to abrasion and tear making, it is perfectly suited for the demand of a professional saxophone player. This leather is untreated and naturally waterproof as well as non-stick to the tone hole. Pads are manufactured with medium firm pressed felt. Bass clarinet pads in kangaroo leather are wrapped first with a layer of transparent bladder and then with the Kangaroo leather making this pad waterproof and air tight.
