FOLKWEAR Walking Skirt pattern

$25.2 $34.02
This Folkwear Walking skirt pattern is for a skirt that became popular in the Victorian to Edwardian era, 1800s to 1900s. What is a Walking Skirt? As the Victorian age ended at the beginning of the 20th century and the Edwardian age began, women entered the sporting and professional world. As a move way from the fussiness and inconvenience of bustles and hoops, the walking skirt was born and was a new mark of comfort and practicality. The skirt has 5 gores and the pattern has the option of full-length or street-length. It is finished with a buttoned placket at centre-back. Although considered to be of a certain period, this can easily be worn today and look quite stylish. Wouldn’t this look amazing in shweshwe print? PATTERN DETAILS: This is a paper pattern and includes instructions for decorative cutwork embroidery (Broderie Anglaise). The pattern is a multi-size pattern from SMALL to 3XL. FABRIC SUGGESTIONS: Medium to heavyweight cottons and blends, linen, silk, lightweight wool, thin wale corduroy, or velvet. YARDAGE & SIZING Fabric yardage requirements and sizing are provided in the last image.
