Here’s a breakdown of our payment process for generators:In-stock Items: These must be paid for in full before collection or delivery.Generators Below 200kVA: If components need to be imported, a 30% deposit is required. If components are in stock, a 30% deposit starts production. The balance is due 2 days before the estimated completion date.Generators Above 200kVA: Full payment is needed before production starts.NOTE: All generators must be paid in full before collection or delivery. No generator will be released without a valid payment confirmation and delivery note. Additionally, payments must be reflected in our account to secure pricing, and components, or to start production. A purchase order alone does not confirm an order. Ensure timely payments to prevent delays. Does the price include installation? No, the price doesn’t include installation. Installations are all different and require varying length of cable, time and distances to be travelled. In addition to this installations need to be done by a qualified electrician to issue a valid Certificate of Compliance (COC) for your insurance. We will gladly recommend a qualified local installer, please ask your Sales Consultant for more information. Installers are independent third parties and are used at your own discretion. Do you offer installation services? No, but we do have recommended installers throughout Southern Africa who will be able to assist you with your installation and sizing your generator. Due to the nature of the goods and their size they have to be delivered by a specialised truck and rigging crew. Hence delivery is charged extra based on the distance and complexity of the delivery. Does the price include a ATS (Automatic Changeover Switch)? Please review the generator specifications above to confirm if the generator has a built-in ATS, or whether you need to purchase one separately. Tell me about the Warranty? All generator warranties are limited warranties. Travel to the site is not included in the warranty. The goods need to be returned to us or a call-out will be charged. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions and the Warranty Card for further information on the warranty.  What is the Price Validity? Pricing is valid whilst stock lasts and is subject to change without prior notice. Pricing on the website is indicative and should always be confirmed by Mzansi Power in the form of a written quotation. Does the generator need to be installed on a plinth? Yes, the generator should be installed on a level plinth. Smaller generators (on wheels) can be installed on a paved area. How much space do I need to install the generator? You should install the generator with at least 1 meter clear around all sides. This is for optimal air-flow and servicing of the generator. Do I need to anchor the generator to the ground or have a rubber mat? No, the generator is mounted on anti-vibration mountings so it is not necessary to anchor it. The only reason to anchor the generator would be for theft purposes.  Can I put the generator in a room or can I build an enclosure around it? Air cooled generators should not be installed indoors or in an enclosure. This restricts air flow and it is a fire hazard.Water-cooled generators can be installed in a room provided adequate ventilation is provided (In and Out) and the exhaust is routed out of the room. Do I need surge protection? Yes, Surge protection should be installed on the mains incoming line before the ATS and generator. This is to protect the ATS, generator and your home or business. Failure to install adequate surge protection could result in the warranty being voided. Can I make the generator quieter? Silent generators are designed to minimize sound and optimize airflow through the generator canopy. Any restriction of the airflow in any way will lead to the generator overheating and it will cause damage to the generator.We do not recommend using any after-market silencing solutions, this will likely void your warranty and could be a fire hazard.Generators should be installed outside with at least one meter clear around them to allow for optimal working conditions. DO NOT install inside a room without appropriate ventilation. Will my generator rust? The standard canopies are made of powder-coated mild steel. While this provides some protection against the elements, rust may still form over time. In coastal areas, it’s advisable to regularly wash the generator to prevent salt accumulation.OPTIONAL upgrades to an aluminum canopy and a galvanized base are available for certain models. For models not eligible for this upgrade, we can refer you to a third-party service provider who offers specialized coatings. Both the aluminum and galvanized upgrades, as well as the specialized coatings, offer enhanced rust resistance, making them more suitable for coastal conditions. Please consult with your sales consultant for more info on these options.  PLEASE NOTE: This product must be installed by a qualified electrician and serviced by a certified mechanic. A Certificate of Compliance (COC) must be issued upon completion of the installation and a Service Report must be completed during each service to maintain the validity of the warranty. × PLEASE NOTE: All ratings are approximate and based on sea level conditions. Engines should be de-rated for altitude and continuous operation. As a guideline, performance should be de-rated by 1% for every 100m above sea level. For example, a 20kVA generator at sea level is equivalent to an 18kVA generator at 1000m above sea level (a 10% reduction). For sustained operation, it's advisable to operate a generator below 70% of its prime rated capacity to ensure longevity and optimal performance. Continuously running a generator between 70-85% of its capacity can risk overheating, with the exact threshold influenced by factors such as ventilation, humidity, and ambient temperature. The generator isn't designed to handle its full load immediately.
